Machine Code policies relating to System x machines will be established by Lenovo and may be different from the policies described herein. The setup will discover the existing installation and will let you perform an in-place upgrade. As previously announced, Lenovo has acquired IBM's System x business. To in-place upgrade to Windows Server 2019, insert the Windows Server 2019 media into the existing server, by attaching an ISO file, copying the sources, adding a USB drive or even a DVD drive and start the setup.exe. All code (including Machine Code updates, samples, fixes or other software downloads) provided on the Fix Central website is subject to the terms of the applicable license agreements. Updates listed within IBM Fix Central without a key symbol are generally available for installation subject to the terms of the applicable license agreement. To determine whether a Machine Code update is made available for installation on select machines not covered under warranty, an IBM Hardware Maintenance Service Agreement, or a Special Bid Agreement, please utilize the search facility above and enter the applicable product.
Code for operating systems or other software products is available only where entitled under the applicable software warranty, IBM software maintenance or Software Subscription and Support agreement. NOTE Unlike previous versions of Windows Server, Microsoft Windows Server 2019 does not support the conversion from Windows Server Core to Server with Desktop Experience and vice versa.
